I also rly loved your latest, @captain-hen! For your anon, I would not in any way claim these are similar to yours, but I could call them maybe…likeminded vibes, in that they treat Tommy like a whole human person with feelings that can and will be hurt by Buck and/or Eddie being such a mess.

loved loved loved your latest fic, all the takes i have seen so far, thought lovely, always seem to assume tommy would be okay with the emotional infidelity of it all and like, as mature as one can be, i just find it so unrealistic that he (or anyone in his position) would be that gracious about it 😭 if you have any recs for fics that have the same vibes that’d be awesome! <333

unfortunately, i don't know of any fics with a similar vibe—i haven't been reading a lot of post 7x04 fics. but i'll leave this here in case anyone knows of any!

#fic rec #it’s been interesting to see how various authors deal with The Tommy Problem #in that it’s not as easy to write him off as just not right for buck with quite the same #ease maybe? as they’ve done for all the various girlfriends of the past 6 years #granted not every author is like that and a few of my all time faves have some truly inspired and fleshed out marisol and natalia #even an occasionally interesting ana or sympathetic taylor #but yeah it’s like. to deal with Tommy without invalidating what both buck AND eddie seem to see in and like about him #one of the more common ways I’ve seen so far is to make him a pushover?#which idk maybe that’s better than whatever generic fandom would end up with as their version of abusive for Tommy #just thinking with horror at some of the things I’ve read about ana…and like yeah a couple were compelling!#sometimes a villain is compelling even if they’re an unlikable villain!#but the patterns.#once you start to notice the patterns things stop being entertaining and start being concerning and or blatantly racist or misogynistic #or homophobic whatever pick your flavor combo #anyways #Long winded way of saying I appreciate fics like yours who treat Tommy as his own character and not an inherent villain or pushover just bc #he’s in the way of the OTP #it’s more painful to confront the issue (or perhaps more complicated to go the poly route tho I’m also fully here for that)#but infinitely more satisfying
